I have NOT tried reinstalling windows. However, after doing quite a bit of reading on this forum about successful mother board swaps on the area 51 alx, I've decided to upgrade my mother board and a few other components of my machine. This in itself entails a clean install of windows, and so after all is said and done, I expect the speakers to work properly. If they continue to misbehave, I'll report back or possibly just replace them. They're pretty old at this point anyway.

Hi,
Are you running the latest Bios version for your system? Which Windows operating system are you running with the system?
