Area-51 Alx Sound Issue

Hello all, this post is a continuation of the later parts of this post:

en.community.dell.com/.../20893893

To summarize, I am using basic, lowly logitech speakers (sub, left, right, center, rear left, rear right) and only getting sound out of the right speaker and the sub.  When I test the speakers (using the built in test button) I get sound pings out of all of them.  However, during ANY other use, I get nothing.  All drivers are up to date, and the speakers work just fine on other computers.

Balance has not been altered

And I only have 3 jacks coming from the speakers but the properties of the speakers seem to show more...

Not sure if that's relevant or not.  Thanks everyone!

Hi,

Are you running the latest Bios version for your system? Which Windows operating system are you running with the system?

Hi,

Did you also try reinstalling Windows?

I have NOT tried reinstalling windows.  However, after doing quite a bit of reading on this forum about successful mother board swaps on the area 51 alx, I've decided to upgrade my mother board and a few other components of my machine.  This in itself entails a clean install of windows, and so after all is said and done, I expect the speakers to work properly.  If they continue to misbehave, I'll report back or possibly just replace them.  They're pretty old at this point anyway.

Thanks for the replies and the help!
