Area-51 With ASUS Matrix 5870 in Crossfire?
For some reason I am having the hell of a time getting power cables for my 2nd card. My Area 51 came with the 1K power supply, so I bought the 1.1K. But there are not enough cable to power my second card. The Matrix takes two 8 pin connectors.
So there is this very small male 8 pin connector, but it looks customized as I bought an 8 pin female with dual 8 pin connectors. This is frustrating, I wonder how others with 5970 power their cards. I know some use 6 pin connectors but damn, mine are 8 pin in the cards.
Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have some normal 6 pin power cables? Will this work?

If you have 2 real 8-pin cables, I think I would run one to each card.
Then turn 2 of the 6-pin cables into 8-pinners (with adapters) and plug into each card.
