Area-51 and SSD

Hi, all! I've searched the forums and didn't find anything, but if this is a duplicate question, please forgive me. I've got an Area-51 that's about five years old, the last of the dinosaurs, apparently. LOL I'm planning on giving it a boost by installing an SSD in the very near future. I know from a previous question I'd posted that the drive bays in the machine can handle a 2.5" drive without an adaptor, which is great. My question is this: Most all of the drives I've looked at are SATA III now (big surprise), but my old warhorse is strictly SATA II. I'm pretty sure it will still work fine, and I know I'll be slightly limited by the transfer speed of the older architecture. But is there anything else I should be worried about, or pay attention to? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

1. This user found a cheaper caddy:

2. Right, but even at SATA-II-300, it's still going to be twice as fast on transfers. Even general operation will seem snappier.

3. Not really, but I recently posted this due to similar posts from users:

Many thanks for the response, Tesla. That's mostly what I thought, but I didn't want to make a huge (and possibly expensive) mistake. Thanks again. ;-)

I switched to an ssd with my Aurora R1 which was from the same era as your Area 51. No problems with the install and it made a significant difference I'm boot and load times!

$20 is not a bad price. I thought people had said that part was more expensive (like $70).

no, I clicked that Impact link lastnight - cringed at the 70 dolla ticket price - called Alienware today to get a price quote, it was $13 + 6 to ship w/tax & they're in stock.
