If you tried another monitor and cable (and it still does it), sounds like the problem is probably in the computer ... Likely causes would be video card or drivers. However, you won't really know until it's fixed and working properly.

You mean you don't even see the Alien Head on the BIOS screen?
Have you checked your connections?
Can you swap monitors with another computer? See if problem follows monitor or stays with computer.

Are you using the DVI or just the VGA port?
Try switching to the other DVI port.
System specs might be helpful.

stays with computer. it doesnt always does it. sometimes itll open fine but some other times it wont.
