Aurora ALX case lighting/ alien FX pre determined themes not working

Hi all,

I had the lighting turned off for a few weeks and have now gone to turn it back on and they will not work? If I select a new theme and pick a solid colour or new theme the lighting changes and works but a pre determined theme does nothing? Would this be a software problem with the command centre? The system is only a few months old.

Yes, the AlienFX sub-App of Command Center controls the lighting.

Reverse whatever "switch" you used to turn it off, and it should work again.

I also have had many issues with my case lighting. I have uninstalled the Alienware Fx software with tech support several times and it worked for a while but then stops working and i cant get it back. Kind of tired on having to calll for this issue. Dell says its not a common issue so why is it all over the forums? I hate when they lie and treat us like idiots. Like alienware customers do not know your lying because we jave already done the research before we call. Im getting really annoyed with the repeat nature of this problem. I could have saved a TON of money on another kind of comnputer, but i chose an alienware for its looks and customer service .. so far neither is blowing me out of the water.

What exact model do you have?

Are you still under warranty?

Out of tens-of-thousands of machines, some people do come here for help with it. It's a fairly sophisticated independent system (combining a micro-controller based MIO-Board hardware, Command Center software, and OS drivers). Personally, in 3 years, I've never had a serious problem with it.

If you are just posting to "vent" then I can't help you. However, if you are not under warranty, and are ready to "own the problem" and determined to take trouble-shooting steps to correct problem ... start your own thread and I'll try to help you.
