Aurora R3 won't boot/post with my new r9 280x GPU

Hey guys.  I've been searching, and for the life of me I can't find a solution on my own.

My Aurora won't boot up all the way with my new GPU installed.  No beeps, no lights on my USB keyboard/mouse, no video output to wake up my monitor.  Fans all come on power cords are all plugged in.

I've heard of others with different computers fixing this issue by changing a bios setting for PCI to legacy, but I don't see that setting in our bios.  I've seen comments regarding vbios being the issue and conflicts with EUFI but I don't really follow what that means.

Apparently some people have gotten a custom bios or maybe it's a bios from a newer alienware model (A07) ant that solves some issues, but I don't know if it would solve mine.  The R3 supposedly comes with a 875W PSU but I've heard the rails don't get enought juice for this card?

All bits and pieces of rumors that I have yet to sort out.

It comes down to this:  How do I get my PC to boot with the r9 280x installed?

Thanks,
Nate

Aurora R3 is strange, and doesn't like AMD's Hybrid vBIOS

Hi Nate,

Check if the system works with the OEM card to make sure it's not a hardware problem. Since the R9 280X is not a validated video card upgrade for the Aurora R3, we can't guarantee it will perform properly. However, you might be able to get more information from other threads. See here

Thanks for the replies. I've likely read every relevant forum post on the subject. It comes down to two things. At the moment I'm still trying to get my hands on the modded BIOS dduttonnc seems to have. The other option of hope is flashing the vbios on my video card to a legacy vbios. But since I didn't even know GPUs had bios's before running into this conundrum, I'm hesitant to go this route-- plus I would need to line up a friends computer since I can't do ANYTHING to the r9 280x while it's hooked up to my machine.
