Aurora R5 Desktop Video card

Hi, I have a new (as of Oct 2016) Aurora R5 which I like but I had ordered it with the AMD 480 card and after several issues between it and drivers, and the intel GPU I got it working but then the drivers updated to v17.x.x and now it is sucking.  So much sucking that I am looking to drop the AMD GPU in the bin in favour of the Nvidia 1070.  The AMD v17 drivers don't finish installing, the control center uninstalled itself. I've tried various versions and clean install(s) and everything I can think of and finally got it running under the newest v16.x.x driver so I am leaving it there. And there is some kind of conflict with the mouse when I try to run 1080 in a game where the mouse locks up in the top left corner on game start and is unresponsive. I also ended up at one point with a phantom desk top screen 1 that was very tiny (maybe 480x600-ish) that was my primary desktop and I had to hard boot it off to correct.

On that note... will the 1070 FE fit in this case?  I see Dell sells the PNY one. Will it fit in my case?  I have the 800 W PSU so not worried there. The AMD card is a blower style so I think this should be the correct replacement based on my reading and I just have to verify it is under 10.5" long as per the spec book pg 16... see below link.

Can anyone confirm?

Also does anyone know if I can return the AMD card to DELL for any kind of credit?

Notice that some 1070 cards are only as "tall" as the main screw-down screw like the Dell OEM GTX-1070 (appears to be a MSI Aero-clone) factory-installed in my Aurora-R6. I think the various FE editions (and some others) are also normal height.

Alternatively, the retail MSI GTX-1070 Gaming-X card that I put in my old Aurora-R1 is about inch taller than the hold-down screw. It only has the 2 fans, and they are larger (and can turn a bit slower). No problem fitting in it's larger case, but not sure the power-supply bracket in the Aurora R5/R6 allows for the extra height.

Can anyone verify the "taller cards" fit into the Aurora R5/R6 case?

That's the only possible issue I see. Whether it's a back-blower or internal cooler should not be a problem because the area around the front of the card is all open.

Yeah, I used to be on red-team, but green-team seems to be where its at these days. Still have an AMD-5870 and similar vintage cards in old machines that seem to work OK, but I'm really liking these new 10xx series Nvidia cards.

Right. No, I mean some 10xx cards (with advanced coolers ?) are about an inch taller. I was wondering if they will fit under power-supply and bracket?

IIRC, I don't think they fit in Advanced Graphics Adapter box ... but I guess that discussion is for a different thread.
