BIOS ROM checksum failure
I was trying to update my bios from ao4 to a11 and the machine turned off while in the middle of the installation. I have a 1 year old arura r3 with i7 cpu 7 gig of ram and a gtx 275 1792 video card. The original problem stemmed from the from the pci fan running constantly. I was told that I may need to upgrade my bios i checked for possible downloads and a11 would have worked. I called alienware to see if they could help me even though it has no warantee. The guy told me that I need to "flash" the bios by saving the ao4 installation on a flash drive plug it into the usb port and power it up. Well it didnt work. Does anyone know of another way of bypassing a corrupt bios? Otherwise I will have to buy another mobo which is $506.

A 1 year old Aurora is not a R3 ... it's either R1 (X-58) or R2.
The PCI fan issue is likey not a BIOS problem.
Stop trying to flash it. Does the BIOS screen appear when your Aurora starts up? What is the machine doing now?
There is no dual-BIOS or backup-BIOS functionality on these AW boards. Many Aurora and Area-51 systems have been bricked lately with these new BIOS files. Dell's only response is to replace the boards (if in warranty).

The only thing that my pc does is starts up fans all run for 3 seconds it beeps once then shuts down.... then restarts and the whole process repeats... Readng other forums it looks like I need an actual bios flash utility program.. As you can tell my knowledge of computers is limited. And if I do replace the mobo with a ms-7591 mobo will I need a new restore disk?
