Thanks for the fast reply, I have couple of questions if you don't mind, is it better to go bootable bios or inside windows is just fine?

If bootable is preferible, which USB format is fine?.

Also, what about the other Bios? dell suggest A04 but I had seen people running newest or does vary by CPU?

Also if is not much to ask, what comes next BIOS update? I have to go and check/tweak something manually?

Thank you.

Hi oirigho,

Dell highly recommends applying this update as soon as possible. The update contains changes to improve the reliability and availability of your Dell system

A04 BIOS version has added support for Intel Core i7 920 processor overclocking.

  • During BIOS update verify that the computer is connected to an AC Adapter.
  • Disconnect any third party peripherals connected to the computer before performing BIOS update.
  • Do not turn off the computer during the BIOS update.
  • Do not restart the computer during the BIOS update.

Note: Plug your computer to a good, working UPS before you update the BIOS. If you experience a loss of AC power or a significant voltage sag/spike during the BIOS flash, you will either have to buy a new BIOS chip or buy a new motherboard.

Awaiting your response!

Hi oirigho,

I recommend updating BIOS from Windows environment.

From the above post, click on the BIOS link and follow the steps below to update BIOS on the computer:

    • Click Download now.
    • The File Download window appears.
    • Click the Save button.
    • The Save As window appears.
    • Select Desktop using the drop-down menu to the right of Save in.
    • Click the Save button.
    • A progress meter moves as the download is completed.
    • If necessary, click X in the upper right-hand corner of the Download Progress Window to close it upon completion.

NOTE: Shut down all other applications prior to running the BIOS update utility. The update utility reboots your system in order to get the new BIOS loaded.

  • Double click the Icon on your desktop labeled Aurora-A04.exe.
  • The Dell Bios Flash window appears
  • Click the Continue button.
  • The message Pressing OK will close all applications, shut down Windows, Flash the BIOS, and then reboot. Appears.
  • Click the OK button.
  • The system will restart and the Bios Flash will be completed.

All the drivers and softwares are tested then uploaded on our website for the users to download and update the drivers.

Refer the following link to reinstall Dell support centre:

If any new updated drivers are available, you would get a pop up in this application.

Awaiting your response!

You may need to go one by one on those. Some of them require previous versions installed to be able to continue.

1. I recommend DOS mode (outside of Windows).

Better yet, have phone support talk you through it. That way if it "bricks", they will replace your $400 motherboard for free.

hahaa :) that sounds like a good deal.

Thank you everyone.

Just did A04 update, seem like I'm able to OC to 3.8 now.

wondering if worth to go A11.

On specifications doesn't say nothing OC related  but peripherals fixes I'm not concerns about.

I believe that the A11 does not have any OC enhancements, you are good with the one you currently have in that case.
