Blind flashing Alienware 17 R3

Hi,

I purchased a brand new Alienware 17 R3 laptop about 5 months ago.

Yesterday, out of the blue, the thing stops working.
When pressing the power button, the little "ALIENWARE" text under the screen comes on, followed by the keyboard backlight, followed by the action buttons on the left, followed by the alienware face logo above the keyboard and that's it.

The display is dead, there is no beeping, I don't hear any fans.

I did everything I read online, connected to another monitor, push power button for 1 minute, everything I could find.

At this point, I would like to blind flash it but I can't find the key strokes for this model. I tried FN-B, FN-D, home button and plug in power, F12, F2, ESC.

I can't find official documentation on this either.

Has anyone ever tried this?

I am currently traveling so I can't get support for at least a week and would like to get it back up and running.

Thanks

I suggest trying this.

Take the back off first. Disconnect the battery cable, remove your ram then you will be at the stage this article suggests

Thanks. I was looking for that.

However... It doesn't work.

It does change something from before though. After I follow these steps, it lights up in the sequence I stated before but then after a few seconds shuts down, by itself.

Then, a few seconds more, it comes back up by itself, does the light sequence and I am back to square 1.

Any more ideas?

Well, after my motherboard was replaced, it turns out that the PSU was misbehaving, probably fried my motherboard.

Dell replaced both rather quickly. Did a very good job. Everything is great now, back to gaming.
