Can I install a i7 8700k into a alienware aurora r5?

The statement from staff here is that R5 owners were denied the required Bios update in order to easily move to the Z270 7700k because the R5 system-as-a-whole failed validation & was rendered un-warranty-able (can't handle 7700k). No one who owns the Z170 or Z270 can move up to Z370 8700k. Your R5 dead-ends with the 6700k, an admirable CPU in its own right. Tip: sell R5, use proceeds towards R7
