Can you upgrade m11x processor?
Hello, I have an Alienware m11x R1, with the core 2 duo. I personally think that the core 2 duo SUCKS! So I want to upgrade it to core i5. Is this possible? I heard that you cannot change a processor on a laptop, as manufacturers solder them to the computer.

It is soldered on,so technicly no,and an i5 from core duo no.There is a pin mod on Nbr forum that givesw the same or better performance.I have an r1 m11x also,the motherboard and cpu are not upgradeable.

THere's a few as its ongoing since the m11r1 came out almost 2 years ago but alot of people haqve done it and it makes your su 7300 or 4300 better performance than an I5.Google pin mod it's on NBR start there youll see what I mean theres alot of people that did it and they compare scores and bechmarks it depends on your cpu revision.Sorry For some reason I cant do the link I just googled it it comes right up.
