I have no idea what version i had previously, It came with the system, I got the system in January, As far as the current version goes it's Version 2.7.25.0.
Ok after the shutting down the system & holding the power button it seems to be working, I'm getting readings on the fans & AlienFX is no longer giving me error messages, Thanks for the help.
One more question though, I noticed on the Aurora R3 dowloads page there was a dowload related to Command Center, It said verison 2.8.9.0 and the date was 7/9/12, Is this a newer version than my current version and if so should i update it again using the manual unistall/reinstall method?
Cool.
v2.7.x is pretty new. It added Alien-Adrenaline Profiles . I haven't had a chance to install and evaluate v2.8.x yet.
ONLY EVER USE ... manual un-install/re-install method (unless you like problems or want to possibly be forced into a full Windows re-install).
It's also generally not suggested to go "backwards or to lower version" and if you do, don't be surprised if things go wacky. Try do stick to the currently installed "point release".
Format v1.2.3.4 When the first and second numbers change (point release) = new features
When only the third and forth numbers change = bug fixes
The updates are not necessary and they are used mostly to remove software glitches. If it is working fine for you as it is, it would be better to leave it as is.

Chris: It would be of interest to know if the latest Command Centre no longer has the capability to use "upgrade" from it's screen, the reason many users run into problems including wrecking the MIO board in some cases. Unless, of course, it also prior to the update does all what is required to un-install the present version, but the latter, I guess would not be able to include the power dissipation via unplugging the PC and holding down the start button for at least 10 seconds.
If this issue is not fixed why not? Dell needs to be pro-active (including communication to all customers so they don't use their back-u disk or use the "update" function but follow the posted guideline for updates to CC) for it's own sake, asside from the aggrevation customers run into. Users usually only come to this forum after running into problems - then it's too late.
I agree dell needs to get this issue with the MIO board or software fixed. my MIO board works fine sometimes lol than it does what its doing tyo me now. I haven't changed anything and when I go to alienfx it says incompatible and shows a yellow question mark when you mouse over it says AURORAR3 that's my machine and under it shows a machine mouse over that and it says AURORA so for some reason it says im using the wrong chassis and I thought they was the same. sometime I get no lights or temps. if I restart my computer it wont read the MIO board at all says unknown usb. I have to do a full shut down and disepate all the power than boot for it to read the MIO board. a simple restart computer it wont read it. I just bought a new laptop I was going to buy an alienware but I didn't because for the money the only real thing you get that you can not get cheaper else where is the command center and if that's not gonna work anyways why spend the extra money.

Acme1970,
Please tell us what version of Command Center you had and what version you recently loaded.

Never use the Update feature inside Command Center.
See this thread. Read carefully.
