Computer keeps restarting in a loop | Stuck on Update?

Hello,

I have an Alienware x51 i3

A few days ago, I updated to Windows 10. Everything was going fine until around 65% and it went to a completely black screen with just my cursor. It was like that for around an hour so I decided to just turn it off. However, when it booted back up, it ran in to an issue, and could not properly start. A few days before the update, I reset my computer to factory settings so I decided to just do that again hoping that would fix the problem and I wouldn't lose much from it.

Now, my computer starts...but it goes to the screen that looks like it's installing Windows 10 and it is on 65% - but every time it just keeps restarting and restarting.

I wish I would of waited a day or two so that I could of found these solution posts but I upgraded the day it came out.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello,

Check in the Bios (to access the Bios, tap the F2 button when you turn on the system) under the Boot section for an option called Secure Boot. If it is enabled, disabled it. Also, make sure the Boot Mode is set to UEFI. Save the changes in the Bios and restart the computer. Let us know how it goes.

The Boot mode was already set to UEFI.

I disabled the secure boot and it is still having the same problem.

Hello,

If you look at the back of your X51 system you will see the on-board HDMI at the upper part of the system and the discrete video card ports at the lower part. Try connecting an HDMI cable from your monitor to the on-board HDMI port at the upper part of the system. Restart the system and go through the Windows 10 update process. Let us know how it goes.
