Dell AMD Radeon 1GB 6870 Video Card in sli
Hi,
I just got my new Dell Aurora R4 with a single Dell AMD Radeon 1GB 6870 Video Card .
If I want to add another 6870 and run in sli, can I, I noticed the present card is using both power adapters.
Appreciate any advice.

Yes, CFx (CrossFireX) should work.
There are no guarantees, but AMD is pretty good about letting 2 slightly different cards to still work together (like maybe a 6870 OEM card and a retail one). Try to buy one as close as possible to existing one though.
There should be more video card power connectors tucked down inside case.
You also need the the little CFx cable to connect the cards together.
Don't think you are adding 100% more ... more like 60% (from second card). A new single card like maybe a 7950 or 7970 might be better. XFX cards are good.

Scaling is around 90% with the 6870s. They are great cards to Crossfire. You will almost double your framerates. Cost wise you will come out much cheaper by adding a second 6870. But I will have to agree with Tesla on the 7970. You would get the same performance with just one HD7970 and keep much cooler temps. It is also less of a headache.
