Display driver stopped responding and has recovered
hello, I have bought my alienware 15 about 2 weeks ago and there's a problem, display driver stops working for a second and then restores, especially when i'm using Microsoft edge. any ideas why is this happening? or how can I fix that? picture below.
Try reinstalling both the Intel and the NVidia drivers. Uninstall them first from Device Manager (delete the driver software as well). After uninstalling them, install the Intel first, then the NVidia. You can download the drivers from the Dell support site.
Stop using edge did not fix my problem. I'm using the original NVIDIA driver from the Dell support site (Tried about 15 others aswell) none of them work. I installed the Intel 530 HD first (newest Version), then NViDiA Any suggestion?
First of all make sure you have the latest bios for your Alienware Laptop, you can find it on the support page for your laptop. It is a handy location where you can find information about your laptop, warranty and all the drivers associated with it.
I think I resolved this issue by un-installing the drivers for the NVidia and the on-board graphics. I downloaded the drivers for the on-board graphics from the Dell support site for my laptop. Once un-installed, I rebooted and installed the on-board graphics first, I then proceeded to install the NVidia drivers. Reboot. After doing this I also re-installed Microsoft Edge.
Re-install Microsoft Edge on Windows 10
You can find instructions on youtube. It involves running Windows Powershell from the start menu as administrator and pasting some code.
Obviously do this at your own risk, but it worked for me.

Despite all, I couldn't fix this problem, so i just stopped using microsoft edge. Since then no display driver errors.

But i have Win8 64-bit. Did the same steps with the graphics Driver but that doesn't fix the problem on Win8
