EVGA Precision Tool?
I tried this application and it worked on my Dell Nvidia GeForce 9800GT and the Dell Nvidia GeForce GTX280. I used it to ramp up the video card fan while playing Left 4 Dead 2. I then backed it down to Defaults when not gaming. I was wondering if any of you Nvidia video card users have tried it?

Yup. Can set 2D and 3D profiles so you don't have to manually set fans during gameplay. Also the on-screen display is handy.

Been using it for years. I bought the g15 keyboard when they first came out and i used Precision to monitor what may cards were doing. I have since moved on to the g19 and still use Precision. I keep all 5 GPU's on the g19 LCD showing temp, gpu usage and fan speed.
Another great app is Core temp. This will show you the temps of each core of your CPU and has g19 lcd support.

Yeah...great tool . The MSI Afterburnner is another great GPU tool for both ATI and Nvidea .With a couple of modifications in the file you can really go with it . And very siple to use .

Just gave it a try, don't think it likes the GeForce GTX260m GPU, won't let me take control of the fan.

Maybe it only works for Desktop video cards?

Trust me you want the system controlling fans. There is no fan control for alienware or dell laptops. i8kfangui was around a long time ago but i would stay away from trying it. It has not been updated and will not work with the 260M. Can actually cause damage. For laptops, leave the fan control to the BIOS.

I totally agree with cobbie... let the BIOS control those fans and you should have no problems... but it would be nice to monitor those fans from the CC itself !!!
hey guys, i've a question for you ..... will HD 5870 fit in an M15X... i am looking to replace it with my GTX 260M but the dell tech spoke to the other day told me that 5870 fans are a little too big to fit in an M15X....he told me that an 5850 will fit in no problems but i believe an 5850 is just an overclocked 5870...so why this problem or is there something i am missing here ??? I've seen a lot of users use a 5870 in their M15X ...can you guys ( chris/tesla) throw some light on this matter ?? what am i missing here ??? sorry if i posted this on the wrong place !!!
thanks !!!
