Enter Key Not Working in game.

I had a similiar problem with the demo for FUEL, it required me to press the enter key and it didn't work. Using other games that allow me to reassign keys when assigning a key to enter, pressing it registers as KEYPAD ENTER, or NUMPAD ENTER, the key you could find on a classic keyboard as part of the numpad.

Ive tried using the registry to assign the keypad enter to the normal enter, but that didn't fix it, so a firmware update could fix it but thus far I have seen no way to repair this.

I am experiencing the same problem. I just bought two alienware m15x (which was a good chooice). But both the laptops have the same problem when playing games the ENTER button isn't working. I was reading on the internet to find a solution and it turns out that a lot of people experience this problem. It's realy fustrating because a lot of games are using the ENTER button in the menu. And now i am unable to play those games.

I have the same problem on my M15X Laptop very annoying  to be honest alot of games i am unable to play because of this.

have u tried seeing if u have the lastest drivers? i have had situations like that where i tried an old PS/2 keyboard and it worked not sure why but that programs auto run wasn reconizing my usb might be the same for u could also try a differnt usb port see if that helps

I found a bios update to A03 which have taken care of the problem with the enter button, it was supposedly sent to someone through dells own support. I downloaded it and presto now i can play games that i normally couldnt play.

What was the link?

The enter key on the M15X is mapped to keypad enter thus breaking many games and other programs.  All my terminal emulators are useless as unix/linux knows KP_ENTER is not ENTER. How many months are we supposed to wait until Dell can put out a bios that is already patched but just had a corrupted flasher?

I've had a similar problem using Adobe Creative Suite products because they use enter and number pad enter for different functions.  On my Vostro 1720, a quick work around is to hold down function while pressing enter - seems to work with the Adobe situation.  Hope it will help you, too.

I have the file on my harddrive so if anyone else have this problem i can send the file.

I have an XPS 15...the prob. is that enter key stops working if I attach an external USB keyboard...if the BIOS update helps XPS too...please send it to me
