your laptop is fine, really fine if we are talking about temperatures ... is normal that a 4 core processor at 2,5 - 3.5 ghz have this temps ... if you will see something like 85-90°C is something to worry but this is not the case, if you have to improve temps, I THINK that you have an Alienware 15, you should download the A06 BIOS from Dell Support and i recommend you to put something in the back of your laptop, to let him breathe

as you can see in the picture i put a cooler that dont work, but is enough to let him breathe :)

Hi,

Is your system turning completely off or is it restarting? To better assist you, please confirm your Alienware model name and revision. Try running a video card stress test using the Support Assist tool.

  • Open Support Assist
  • Click on the Checkup option
  • Click run custom scan
  • Click on the NVidia/AMD card
  • Select the Stress Test option

If you do not have Support Assist installed, click here for the download link. Let us know how high the GPU temperature goes in the stress test.

It seems to be restarting, however instead of doing a complete restart It comes up to a screen that says that the laptop was not restarted correctly, Click for options to repair/ or start windows normally.

Ran the Stress test for the AMD graphics for my Alienware 15 (not sure what revision is hopefully the log below will help though)

I really seriously thought that 60C was totally normal since it's been running with those temps since I got it. I do keep it suspended to allow as much airflow as possible and I also use a working external fan in the summer.  I often clean out the vents as well to make sure there is little dust as possible. HOWEVER, I noticed today, when i restarted that I got a notification saying that the memory was changed, but when I look at it, it still says 8 gigs. So the blue screen issue may be something totally different and related to this memory notification.

I had a lot of people tell me that it was overheating because 60c seemed to hot.

I'm glad that its totally normal. :)

Yes, those temperatures do look normal. Try running an ePSA/Diagnostics test to check the ram. Click here to view a Dell article that explains how to run this test.
