Graphic Card problems or...?

Question

I own an Alienware M14x with GeForce GT 555M Graphic Card. Recently when I am playing games as usual, I found out that the fps keeps on fluctuate with a massive drop in fps for a few seconds. I tried lots of ways to stop it but none of it work out. Is there a problem with my graphic cards? How can I fix this problem?  Thanks a lot for the help.
