Hardware polling problems [Don't know how but fixed]

Hello,

I just purchased and updated my drivers/software for a new 17" R3 with i7 6700hq and a 980m.  I am unable to correctly run either HWinfo or MSI afterburner as the polling with the GPU reads 0.  If I set the polling to 500ms, it alternates an accurate reading and 0s.

Obviously something is interfering with the polling.  Any ideas what preloaded software that might be?  Something in the command center?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Are you running the latest Bios version? Are you experiencing issues with the video card performance in gaming or anything else? We are not very familiar with those third party software, so we are not sure what may be causing that issue.

Yes bios was updated.  MSI is working now with rivatuner giving me stats in game.  I wanted to see how hot this machine was going to run under load...no actual issues with hardware/performance.  I honestly don't know what changed as I was having this issue after I did all of the updating from factory load.
