Hi ‌,

We will advise you to perform a clean install of the OS, instead of just a reset.

Sounds like "Audio Recon" feature.

You should have an icon in your TaskTray to control it.

Search for the Alienware Sound center.  Open that App, the 4th tab is Audio Recon.  Toggle it off.

1. aka System Tray ... the arrow and by the clock in bottom-right corner.

2. Audio or Audio-Recon I think

I don't have an Alienware laptop at the moment, but I can search the forum and use Google.

Take the hard drive out and clean install a new blank hard drive along with antivirus software.   Data files can be recovered by using a Non windows machine and installing the drive in a drive enclosure.  Then you erase the old drive and clean install again.
