Help: Install SSD on an Alienware 17R3?

Good day guys. I am looking for some help, I just bought an Alienware 17 R3. I am trying to install a "Samsung 850 EVO MZ-75E500 - Solid state drive - 500 GB" as a secondary one, but I want to make sure I don't screw up as I am about to open it up. Does anyone have a link or a video of how to do this?

My Alienware Specs: Processor: Intel(R) Core i7-6820HK CPU @ 2.7GHz Ram: 16 RAM Disk Drives: (Boot) SSD CM871 M.2 2280 128GB (HD1) SATA 1TB GPU: GTX 980M Nvidia

All the videos I have seen in YouTube are about other Alienware 17 versions, so I want to check if I can get an actual roadmap with the actual newest model :)

Hi,

You can refer to the Service Manual for removing the base panel and the hard drives.

Yup. The drive arrives today, so I will let you know how this goes and post a reply on this thread.

There's more than just mechanically dropping a new hard drive in.  You might have to go to disk management to activate it as a usable drive.

What if bios and device manger see it but Disk management does not?
