How Do I disable Turbo Boost i7 3820? Aurora R4

Question

Personally, I'd like to set it to it's base speed (3.6 GHz) without an OC or turbo boost at all. The only settings I see in the BIOS are 'load OC profile 1' and 'load OC profile 2'. It suggests to enter '0' where I usually enter clock speeds for each core. (i.e. value of 42 for 4.2 GHz, 39 for 3.9 GHz, O for factory settings, etc) I currently have it set to 41, 39, 39, 39 with OC profile 1. I don't get why dell only OC's the first core, but I left it thinking they know what they are doing. lol My question is: Should I load factory OC setting 1 and manually set all cores to a value of 36 under the first OC profile or should I enter 0 and let the system handle it. Like I said, I want to see how games perform without an OC turbo boost. The cpu is gaining some years on it and I'd like to push it is little as possible. My main goal is to limit power consumption and drop temps as low as possible while gaming. Demanding games usually keep it in the 50s and serious hogs can keep it in the 60s. While I know this is totally acceptable, I'm looking to see even lower temps and increase the cpu's longevity. (using corsair H75 over stock cooler). Thanks in advance.

In order to disable the turbo boot you just have to go into the BIOS and in the advanced tab select Frequency/voltage control then go to the option that says CPU Power Management Configuration, disable the Intel turbo boost then save and exit.

Wil do. If things prove to be unstable and applications start crashing or freezing, I will just return things to the way they were, since it's proven to work fine.

This worked perfectly! 3D Mark showed base and turbo clocks to match at the stock 3.6GHz. Temps were also very low in the 40s as I hoped they would be. Will see how actual gaming is affected by removing the turbo boost.
