How to restore to factory setting after system crash
My MX11 encountered a fatal error during a windows upgrade. I tried repairing it during set up but it kept getting stuck on the same fatal error. I made what I now realise was a fundamental mistake by using the operating system installation disk. I have now lost all my alien FX, command centre, software downloads etc. I have purchased respawn premium but it will not let me restore to factory settings - on start up I cannot access the advanced boot options. How can I restore my computer to the state when I purchased it?

If you made a backup disk when you first put AlienRespawn Premium on your laptop, then you can put the backup dvd you created then into the dvd drive and reboot into the AlienRespawn restore menu. If you failed to make the backup disk before you used the operating system reinstallation disk then you may just have to do a clean install and download everything you need from the Dell website. I haven't done a restore yet for this computer but this is what I read when I was making my backup Dvd. Good Luck.

You have not lost anything you can not get back if it came from Dell with it.
First thing you need to find out is what is making it get a fatal error. Do you have any info on the error such as a BSOD code or something? Was it acting up to begin with so you decided to reinstall the OS and if so do you have any info on that error?
If it will not install Windows from a CD then there is a very strong chance that Respawn will also not work. Lets try to find the root cause first.
