How to verify Turbo Boost Technology on X51 R3 i6700 CPU 4.0 GHz with Turbo Boost Technology
Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum and hope to find and answer soon.
I got myself an X51 R3 i6700 CPU 4.0 GHz with Turbo Boost Technology system about two months ago. The invoice states i6700 CPU 4.0 GHz with Turbo Boost Technology. The system info states 3.4 GHz, no mention of Turbo Boost Technology. The BIOS also states 3.4 GHz and no mention of Turbo Boost Technology.
I have been scouring the internet for where this Turbo Boost Technology might be stated in the system but have not found anything. Does anyone with an X51 R3 system know where this Turbo Boost Technology might be stated the system?
I read that some people want to turn it off. Crikey! How am I even suppose to turn it on or off when I don't even know if I have it.
Thanks to all those who attempt to help me. A screenshot would also be nice.

Turbo Boost 2.0 Technology is built into all Intel i7-6700 processors.
In the first link, there are lots of technologies listed and built into that processor. Just because they are not mentioned in the BIOS, that doesn't mean they don't exist or are not active.

See
http://ark.intel.com/products/88196/Intel-Core-i7-6700-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-4_00-GHz
and
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/architecture-and-technology/turbo-boost/turbo-boost-technology.html
To get it any where near 4.0ghz, you will have to give it a lot of work to do (encode a video, Prime95, etc.) so all cores stay at 100% for a while.

Hi Tesla1856,
Yes, I was aware of this information and I also came across the Intel site about Turbo Boost Technology during my internet scouring.
The invoice for my X51 R3 states that the system has an "i7-6700 Processor (8MB Cache, up to 4.0GHz with Turbo Boost Technology)". The system info states that it has "Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700 CPU @ 3.4GHz" but no mention of Turbo Boost Technology.
Thus far I am unable to find anywhere on my system a mention of this mysterious Turbo Boost Technology.[*-)]
My question still remains: where in the BIOS or system does it state Turbo Boost Technology.
Thanks for your post though.
Cheers,
Mrotto
