I keep getting a blue screen.
I have a M17x4 Windows 7 64 bit computer. When I am playing games on my computer I keep getting a blue screen. I will be in the middle of the game and it will freeze and start making a really annoying noise and the blue screen pops up and my computer starts with no problems, I did the alienware autopsy thing where it checks hardware and it says No device for my graphic card but then I did it again and it says its fine. Please help I am not very good at this kind of stuff.

Hi 3couch,
Try to update the video drivers on the computer.
1. Visit the following website: http://dell.to/QjjZDA
2. Enter the Service tag of the computer in the box provided and click “Submit”.
3. In the next page, click drop down arrow to select the Operating System which is installed in the computer.
4. Under category Video, select the drivers accordingly and click “Download File” and save the file on desktop.
Also let me know the blue screen error code so that I can help you better.
Awaiting your response!

I already updated the drivers and everything and how do I get the screen error code? I have a program called bluescreen view and it lets me copy this stuff onto here so maybe this is what you mean?

No that needs to be check out too.. Something may have gone wrong in the installation of the drivers. These are all Windows errors not hardware errors. I would call Alienware and let them fix it.
This is the file that is causing it ntkrnlmp.exe. You are not the only one that has had problems with this file. Quick research on Google doesn't point to one thing so it's impossible for me to even guess what's the problem, also this isn't my forte as you see in my signature.
I've been very impressed with Alienware's Tech Support. They're in Costa Rica and it's not like calling those other call centers.
You need to give them a call and let them straighten this out.

Are you sure? Becuase sometimes my graphic card seems to be acting weird. Example I play League of legends and I normal a usually a solid 50- 60 fps and now for somone reason my game seems to stutter and have a fps of 25 to even hitting 5... but I restart my computer and it usually fixes it but it comes back at random times. I haven't had a blue screen today but I haven't really done anything.

Hello 3couch,
The BSOD that your system is experiencing can be related to the video driver, try the steps from this link, to perform a proper video driver installation please follow the instructions from this article.

Well I called tech support and one of the guys (who sounded angry half the time) connected to my computer... all he did was uninstall the driver and reinstall it from the website, said it should work fine and asked if i needed anything else and hung up. I then proceeded to have a blue screen 15 minutes later. I called again a day later and got a hold of tech support and they said my account was on hold then transferred me to customer service and then customer service said they had to transfer me to business management because I bought my computer from Amazon and had to straighten stuff out. I finally get to talk to them after 20 minutes of waiting and he asked me what the problem was and I told them the customer service people said I had to talk to you guys about why my account was on hold. I explained what was up and he said there was nothing he could and said he needed to transfer me back to customer service (LOL) I then waited on hold for another hour before I hung up... and right now I have just been trying to deal with it, so far it only happens when I play far cry 3. I noticed that sometimes I will be just on internet explorer and I will get a error message in the bottom right that says AMD graphic device has stopped working and the screen will flash and it will say it has been restored. I guess it's just messed up or something. Any advice on how I can just send my computer in to get repaired.. I really hate dealing with this custom support it has been terrible to me.

I have had the same issue for a while now with my m17x, it has gotten to the point where I am blue screening every 30mins-1hour when playing games. If possible, do you think you would be able to help me as well, Karen?
