Installing SSD in my Aurora R2

Jump to solution

Ok, this is my first shot ever of doing fresh install of windows...

That being said....I do not understand how to tell which drivers I need for my system.

I am replacing the original 500gig HDD with a Samsung 840 series SSD.

I understand they have to be installed in order, but on the list I have no idea what "Intel management engine" is?

Chipset is easy as there is only one driver for that, my video card is evga so there site for that driver'

Am unsure of other drivers I need specific...How do I tell?

Then can I put drivers on USB stick to install after fresh windows?

How this makes sense ,any help would be very  appreciated.....If more info is needed please let me know and I will do my best to give it.

1. I am replacing the original 500gig HDD with a Samsung 840 series SSD.

2. but on the list I have no idea what "Intel management engine" is?

3. Chipset is easy as there is only one driver for that, my video card is evga so there site for that driver'

4. Am unsure of other drivers I need specific...How do I tell?

5. Then can I put drivers on USB stick to install after fresh windows?

Aurora R2
- Intel Chipset
- Nvidia Video Card
- Integrated Audio
- LAN
- eSata SIL-Silicon Image
- Command Center

Above is a more realistic list. I would skip Intel-RST for now.

1. Cool
2. I think that's a "in OS" app for a BIOS function. Maybe vPro or OC ... I don't install it.
3. Yep, be sure Chipset first. Then go in order of importance ... Video, Audio, Network, etc.
4. Look in Device Manager and Device and Printers. Document or take some screen shots. You know what is inside if you think about it
5. Yes.
