Integrating AlienFX lights with boot

Can someone tell me how to bring up the lights of my system when I press the power button? A recent windows update caused it and now my lights are all messed up. I have posted on the forums so many times, tried all I could to fix it with less success. Please help.

Hello,

Just to confirm, you are using the Alienware 17 R2 system correct? If you are, try the following steps below.

  • Drain all power from the computer. This process consists on:
    • Turn off the computer
    • Unplug the power cable and battery
    • Press and hold the power button for about 20 seconds (the computer is not expected to turn ON)
    • Reconnect the power cable
    • Turn the system on
  • Update the computer BIOS to the latest version available. Click here for the download link.
  • Uninstall and Reinstall the Alienware Command Center Software. Click here for the download link.

Go to the AlienxFX taskbar icon and make sure these options are checked:

  • Dim Lighting Zones.
  • Keep Status Zones on During Go Dark.

Let us know if you require further assistance.

Hello sir,

I tried everything possible. everything mentioned in the forums. no luck. please tell alienware to update the command center and test in on their systems before they update it on their website. there can be lots of compatibility issues with windows 10 coming out and new drivers and updates flowing in. alienware command center can keep up with all these updates unless alienware sends updates for the systems on their side. i have spend so much money on this system. and such poor and unprofessional help from dell. really disappointed.

Hey, I know how to fix this problem. I am sure you are using Alienware Command Center 4.0.54 since I updated to this version today and having the same problem, just uninstall it and download 4.0.53 version from Dell, once you've installed, reboot your system and all will be fine.
