Invalid Service Tag

Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this. I got my Alienware m14x R2 laptop about a month ago. Earlier today I tried to access my NVIDIA Control Panel but got an error message. I decided to then go to customer support, which asked for my service tag. However, the scan for my service tag doesn't work, and when I try to enter it in manually, it says it is invalid. (I suppose I could be misreading the tag due to the small print, but I believe it's correct). So I have multiple problems, but I suppose the most pressing one is: How do I sort out the issue with my service tag?
