Is VR possible on an Alienware 13 R1 with a Graphics Amplifier?

I am concerned that the processor on my R1 laptop (Core i5-4210U) is going to be an issue. Does anyone have any experience using an i5 laptop with a Graphics Amplifier using VR?

It's hypothetical at this point. I haven't bought the Graphics Amplifier  just yet.

I'd be getting a GTX 1070 or 1080, which I'm sure is VR capable. The laptop has 8 GB of RAM, which is also acceptable for VR.

I'm just concerned that the i5 is going to be an issue. I know the i7's are not an issue. I wouldn't even ask on a mobile i3. I'd just like some assurance before I take the plunge.

While you are waiting for an exact answer, maybe you want to investigate further on your own.

Would it not heavily depend on the card-model (and GPU) of the full-sized dedicated graphics card installed in the Graphics Adapter box?

I think also the make/model of VR device you are using. I think most publish minimum and recommended system requirements. Finally, I think some even provide apps to test setup.
