Make sure your system is running the latest Bios version, click here for the download link. Are you using driver version 355.82 for your Nvidia 970 card? If not, click here for the download link. That is latest driver for the Nvidia 970 and the recommended one to use with Windows 10.
BIos version A11 and nvidia driver up date. I ALWAYS keep my system up to date. Of course, this may actually BE the problem with a new OS. lol
I have suspicions regarding my logitech hardware/software. After unistalling the software, the crashes stopped for a while. So I reinstalled the latest version (which is supported by windows 10) and a few days later the crashes came back. So I removed it again.
No problems booting up today. I did notice some sketchy behavior with my mouse pointer. Sometimes, the pointer doesn't appear once the desktop loads until I move the mouse. Other times the mouse pointer loads with the desktop.So I could have a driver issue with the logitech gaming mouse. (even though it's up to date).
I will just keep an eye on it for know. I'm sure an update will fix this at some point. (I hope). If not, I will have to learn how to open and read crash dumps to pinpoint the cause.
Thanks for your suggestion. I reinstalled the gpu driver just to be safe. I did have a heck of time with the gpu driver right after the windows 10 upgrade. (I didn't readt the alienware upgrade tips until after the fact. oops).
I'll be sure to report back if I find any new info or if the problem persists.
