M11x Problem Charging Battery

Bought a used, almost new M11x laptop. Installed new Battery and it charged 100%. Now it says that the charger is plugged in but not charging. Unhooked the battery and removed, discharged the motherboard with power button. Reinstalled battery... same problem. Verified the bios setting... everything OK. It is using a non-Dell charger. I have a 150w Dell charger coming. Should I expect any better results? Any suggestions?

Thank you, Naomi. The new 150w Genuine Dell charging adapter cured the "adapter plugged in, not charging" problem. You are great!!! My next challenge is upgrading to a SSD.

Hi!

Check if the AC adapter type says "Unknown" (could indicate AC adapter problem) in the BIOS and if there's any light indicator on charger that's flickers or fades out when you connect it to thelaptop (could indicate Motherboard problem). This will help us determine if it's an AC adapter or Motherboard problem.

Also, let me know when you get a chance to test the new AC adapter.

Thanx! Should get the new charger today or tomorrow. Will keep you posted. I love the computer otherwise. The shifting colors on the computer have a hypnotic and addictive effect on me! LOL!

The strange thing is that the battery level has climbed from 0% to 4%, so the battery must be having an Alien Resurrection. I await the Alien Seed Pods to show up in the living room. Also am waiting for the new charger.
