M14x R2 CPU and memory clock drops
In November 2012 I ordered an Alienware M14x R2, and was very impressed! recently when playing a game, I noticed FPS drops, happening periodically, for a few seconds at a time. I found the cause of the problem to be the CPU and Memory clocks, dropping, SIGNIFICANTLY. I'm running in high performance mode, and the onlt change that took place before the incident, is i downloaded and installed "advanced system care" but i have since uninstalled that and no changes occured. any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello, I think it may be that your GPU-CPU are over heating and throttling FREQ to decrease heat and cool down, This coud be fixed by applying new thermal gel to CPU+GPU plates/ Cleaning dust and hair out of the fan. BUT i would first try elevating your computer then playing a game and see if it still throttles as it may just not be getting enough air flow.
