M17X R3 and Alienware M18X R2 problems

i have alienware M17X R3 laptop and a Alienware M18X R2  ,  the  M17X R3  when switched on theres no post and all lights light up and the fans spin for fue seconds and stop, and if left on for 20 mins i get 7 bleeps for a bit then 2 bleeps ,  now the Alienware M18X R2  laptop press the power on button and nothing comes on completely dead no sine of life, and the power charger is ok because it charges the M17X R3  battery ok

Hi,

For the 17XR3, the issue could be related to the motherboard, cpu or memory. Follow the troubleshooting below:

  1. Remove all peripherals from the system
  2. Remove any discs from the optical drive
  3. Press the Fn Key while turning on the system
  4. Perform a Power Drain
  • Unplug the AC Adapter
  • Unplug the battery
  • Press and Hold the power button for around a minute, then reconnect everything an try again.

You can also try:

  1. Reseat the memory
  2. Try one memory stick at the time on each slot

For the 18XR2, the light on the Ac Adapter stays on when it's plug into the system?
