{MOVED}Will upgrading RAM & Installing a SSD void my Alienware warranty? M17x R4

Hello everyone, Just a quick question, If I installed a new SSD (Just as a boot drive) into my Alienware M17x R4 and upgraded the amount of RAM would this void my warranty? Thanks!

Just spoken to dell via their chat option.

In regards to upgrading a hard drive this will void your warranty.

When it comes to upgrading RAM this will NOT void your warranty regardless of the make.

Interesting eh?

This isn't the normal, as far as I know, neither will void your Warranty, however your warranty will not cover hard drive/ram issues as they would not be dell supplied (unless you bought them off dell).

Chris-M should be able to clarify this.

upgrading ram and hdd will not  void warranty UNLESS you damage something in the process off removing/replacing... ALSO fortroubleshooting you must keep the original parts available as they wont troubleshoot with other components(just dont tell them) in event it might be your parts you added causing part of the issue if not entire issue....

Correct, as long as you don't break anything you're free to upgrade your Alienware computer, just try to keep the original parts around in case you need to call tech support to troubleshoot your system as they will only troubleshoot the original configuration purchased (unless the upgrades are purchased through Dell, then they would be included in the warranty as well).
