What speed memory did you buy? It needs to run at 1333 or 1600mhz. At 1600 it needs to be set manually in the BIOS. Let me know what speed you have and I can tell you how to set it.

My guess is you bought 1600 because it will boot in default but I need to know for sure. Default puts the memory back to 1333 and that speed works with stock settings.

Hi again

Your system needs to run at 1600mhz with 12gigs installed. To get it running go into the BIOS and change these settings.

Go to the Frequency/Voltage tab. Set XMP to Disabled. Set the Memory Ratio to 12. Then enter the Overvoltage Configuration tab. Set the QPI & Uncore Voltage to +200.

Leave everything else on auto, don't change any other settings. Press F10, save and exit.

When it reboots go back into the BIOS. Then back into the Frequency/Voltage tab. At the top of that page look at the memory speed and confirm it is running at 1600mhz. If so you can exit the BIOS and you are good to go.

Make sure the system is stable. Run it for a few days. Once you can confirm it is stable then you could go and change the timings. Since it is 2000mhz ram running at 1600mhz you should be able to tighten the timings some to give better performance. Just don't go messing with them until you are 100% sure it's working.

Hello

:@(. Well first it switched on and off then back on 0o then let me back into bios but the memory speed has gone back to 1066  (133x8).

I have changed graphics card also at same time could this interfere .?

Also it gave me 5 beeps.

Do appreciate this by the way

Did you turn off the XMP? Make sure it's off. If it is try setting the Memory Multiplier to 10. That will give you 1333. See if it boots like that. And again make sure XMP is off and you put the volts to +200. If you don't then it will never work.
