Area-51 R2, keeps ejecting cds and dvds
Greetings to everyone!
I'm experiencing a big problem with my new Alienware desktop: the optical drive keeps ejecting random disks, refusing to read them. It doesn't happen with all of them, but it happened with a dvd (with a TV series) and with a music cd. The disk simply stays inside for like two seconds and then gets ejected.
I'm writing here after I've tried to contact the official support by email: they told me to call the telephone support, but I had such a terrible experience that I won't try again. (In short words, I had to wait for a very long time and then I was treated almost like an idiot by a person who clearly could not help me in any way; by the way, I'm from Italy, so I called the Italian support).
What should I do? I already tried to update the driver from the support menu, but without success...
Thank you!
Mosè

I've seen that article already, unfortunately it does not help me.
1. The Microsoft fix tool does not exist for Windows 10.
2. Can't find any upper/lower filter if I check the registry. This solution also seems not to be for Windows 10.
3/4/5. The drive is listed and identified, and it can even play some disks, so it's not a problem connected with it not being recognized.
6. I've immediately updated the driver, but nothing has changed.
7. As with 3/4/5.
8. No strange mechanical noise.
Thank you nevertheless for your answer. Do you have other ideas?

Hi,
Unfortunately no and considering everything you have already tried, you may be looking at a hardware issue with the optical disk drive itself. If your system is in warranty, send me your Service Tag in a PM for hardware assistance.
