My display went blank
I am having Alienware M15x . My display went blank out of sudden. However the laptop is able to boot itself normally in safe mode . But if I try to start the laptop normally , a blue scren appear with locale id 1033. I did try connect to external monitor and it works. However, my resolution is changed from 1920x1024 to 800x600 .Can I know is this screen problem or GPU problem ?

Try to uninstall the video card driver in safe mode then and go back to normal mode, download the latest driver you find in the Dell support site or in the NVidia website and install it.
Let me know how it goes.

Did that .. it installed new drivers but the device manager detects it as ATI 5000 as my GPU is ATI 5730. When I tried to open the GPU setting, it appears no driver is detected . And it asked to restart laptop . I followed it and there is no display in both laptop monitor and external monitor. Sometimes there are blue screens too .

The video card might be failing, I will recommend you to take it to a local repair shop so they can check the system for you.
