New Alienware Mouse - Drag and Drop problem - needs replacing

Hi,

I have an Alienware Aurora system that I bought in 2009.  The alienware mouse that came with the system developed a fault towards the end of last year, so I ordered a replacement from Amazon (sold by Dell) which is only 6 months old.

The new mouse, part number 810-001280 has developed a hardware fault in that the primary mouse button is not registering being held down properly.  This means any functionality that requires drag and drop is very intermittent and extremely frustrating to say but the least.

I am unable to log a support call as I am asked for a service tag but I cannot find this on the new mouse.  The PID/DPID do not register as service tags.

I've spent the last hour trying to find a way of logging a service request which is why I have ended up on the support forums.

Please can you advise how I can get this mouse replaced?

Many thanks

Mabs

Hello,

Send me a PM with the order number for the mouse so we can check this further.
