New Area 51 R2....blank resource DVD
I'm not sure what resources are supposed to be on the resource DVD, but mine is blank. I had a heck of a time trying to install an SSD on my new system I received yesterday. I ended up having to perform a fresh Win 10 installation. I could not get to the restore image located on the 2TB hard drive.
Is an image (re-installation) DVD available for this system through Dell/Alienware? I hate how they've gotten away from including a restore DVD with new systems.

When I go to this page:
www.dell.com/.../advanced
Set to "Drivers and Downloads" and Windows 10 (64 bit)
I see about 15 files. If you downloaded all but one of them ... that would be your Resource media.
"Intel Chipset Driver" should be installed first.
The last one:
www.dell.com/.../OSISO
Appears to be the new way to download and create your OS Recovery media.

Also, what's the expected wait time on a response from Dell customer service via e-mail? I've sent a couple of e-mail, the first on Monday with no response. Not real impressed at this point.

Resource media is usually just drivers and maybe some common Dell apps. Usually, anything on this disc can be downloaded directly from Dell (and usually newer/better versions for target OS).
OS Recovery media is the base Microsoft Operating System. It's typically used to load Windows on blank-formatted machine, Activate as genuine, and then you load any special drivers on top. I like this way.
Restore media is a combination of the above. It typically restores the machine to it's originally "Factory Shipped" state. This media usually has to be created by the user after initial setup. Dell does not store copies this combo media "hard-drive image" backup.
I say "media" because now-days these "discs" can be optical discs or USB-flash-memory-drives.
Over the years (as Win7, Win8, and Win10) have shipped ... procedures have changed. Some of this is due to Microsoft's rules (regarding OS distribution) and changes in OEM activations for each OS. Also, manufacturer's (like Dell) procedures and technology.
In your case:
1. What OS did your machine ship with?
2. What OS would you like to run now?

Thanks for your response. When I go to Dell's driver page, it doesn't give me the option to download any applications and says my drivers are all up to date so drivers aren't an issue. I did find command center and downloaded it.
My pc came loaded with Win 10 home and that's what I loaded onto the new ssd.

Sweet, thanks for the help!
On another note....really impressed with my new set up once I got a chance to play with it.

Maybe I'll give them a call this week.
