Order Status/Ship Time
Well I have recently ordered a new area 51 and I ordered it on 5/2/2011. After I ordered it the website said that it would arrive on the 3rd of June. Sadly the credit card info was messed up and I talked to order support people. They were nice and they gave me overnight shipping. It now says that it will arrive on the 1st of June. The guy we talked to called me and left a message. From what I can hear he said "I am very sorry. You computer will not be shipping of today. There is component that are on backorder. I will call you when I get more information". This seems very strange to me because I have not got my credit card charged yet and one component has already caused me a months wait. What sort of order times did you have? On the Dell order support site I am told that the computer is in production NOT SHIPPED and it will be arriving on the first! Tomorrow! How does that work? I am curious to know what sort of wait times/what experiences you had with dell/alienware!

I ordered my MX11 on 5/5/2011 so I could take it to work and get something accomplished when I'm waiting 3 hours for a patient to get out of dialysis. ITS SO BORING, and god I need this thing now.
My original date of delivery was 05/20/2011.
It's been delayed 3 times, I only received ONE email about ONE of the delays.
First they delayed it until 05/28. Then it was 6/1. THEN it was 6/7 (which was verbalized and later when I checked was actually 6/10)
Quite frankly I'm sick of this. I would be so mad except I WAS LIED TO every step of the way. After the first delay and about (with 3-5 days shipping) the 3rd day away and it wasn't shipped, I called. Of course it was delayed again.
After that I was following up more closely, calling and asking "Are all the parts in" and getting a "no parts are on back order, I personally checked every single part and they're all in" and then the NEXT morning I get and they tell me "Sorry, but we're delaying it because two parts are missing" to which I told the dude "Okay, so you mean the last dude blantly lied to me, kept me on hold for 20 minutes for nothing?" To which of course he apologized; but whatever.
What sucks is I had about 30 co-workers digging the thought of an alienware, and wanted to start a huge net-gaming circle at our base. Two already went out and got something better, two others warned me Dell would do this, and the rest are just surprised at how awfully I'm being treated.
I was also told my shipping would be upgraded for free 1-2 day, but that hasn't happened either.
I think the first week of May was an awful time to order, because they're just out of EVERYTHING. If I get delayed again I'm probably gonna cancel right there and go get something else. I'm just super bummed because this looked like a great laptop, but I guess with the brand comes awful customer service.
Prepare to have your order delayed again, I'm sure it'll happen.

Well...I just got another phone call from the indian guy and I asked him when the computer would be expected. He said that at the moment he didn't know. Later today I got yet another call telling that my order had been sped up and will be arriving on the 2nd!!! Tommorrow!

I called them myself and I've been told my order should mail tomorrow making it a few days early, but they never changed my shipping. So we'll see. I don't have my hopes up. I wish you luck regardless!
