POST Error and Macro/Media Light Failure
This is a truely bizarre one.
When you first press the power button, you get an _ (underscore) flash up, it appears to drop 1 line and give you another underscore, then the Intel Raid Technology and bio screen loads up, then the alienware and into windows.
Sometimes my machine stalls on the first underscore, and the macro OR media strip lights do NOT light but all the other lights come on.
I power off the machine then the power on button doesn't work for about 45 seconds, then it will boot up normally, but the Macro / Media Strip doesn't light up until windows is full loaded. The rest of the lights are on (in my chosen scheme), but the 1 of the 2 area's is NOT on.
This had happened about 5x in 3 months, 1 time I got the .net framework failure until I rebooted then that went away.
It doesn't appear to be anything wrong but I'm curious.
Anyone had similar ?

I have not seen this issue on my M18x-R1. Since we have had no other responses, you might ask the M18x users here and here.

I'll try and pop over to them, I hate being a hit and run poster on forums, so once I get a chunk of time I'll go ask :)
There was a 1 chap on this forum who mentioned similar issue with his media strip, which was corrected by selecting "Go Dark" then "Go Light" but I've not come across many others where the issue is so specific to 1 zone. You either have lights or don't have lights or 1 colour, but not 1 out.
In the interest of an update and completeness.
I'd say its almost like happens when a bios flash goes badly, you just get a flashing underscore nothing else. It just seems to far apart to be anything in particular.
The only hardware change made to the machine in the last 3 months is a new cable for the Dell Streak tablet the Dell supplied ones are shall we say "poor", and clearly not built to be unplugged and plugged daily, that was around 3-4 months ago.
Software wise, around that time unified server (allows android phones to control the m18x or other machines), a clipboard monitor, imgburn and the obvious windows/virus updates.
I'll post back should anything come up :)
