Plugged In, Not Charging
Hello,
I have an Alienware M17X R3 and I started seeing the "Plugged In, Not Charging" notification when I click the battery icon on my task bar a month or two ago and I have this computer since at least 2012. My battery had been old and only held a charge for an hour or two. Also, my charger was looking damaged. I tried to fix the issue by updating my drivers using the dell webpage, but there was not a change. I have rebooted numerous times. I ended up purchasing a new AC Charger, but I still get the same issue.
I then bought a new battery and I still get the same "Plugged In, Not Charging" notification. I have also tried unplugging the AC and only using the battery as well as taking out the battery and only using the AC charger and both still allow the computer to turn on and function. I then shut down the system, took out the battery, unplugged the charger, and held the power button for about 30 seconds, then started it back up.
Then I tried to boot to the start up menu using F2, but the only menus I see regarding my charger are enabling the charging or turning off notifications. I tried checking the battery drivers, and even uninstalling the second driver listed "Control Method Battery".
Please, someone. Anyone. Help me.

Have you tried flashing the BIOS to the latest version?

There only way to make sure is replacing the part however I would recommend you to take it to a repair shop so they can give you an exact diagnostic.
