Power Supply/Power Cable just does not work at all on a brand new M17x
The power cable has a light at the end of it, so I would "know" if it worked or not.
The power supply worked initially (a few moments) but suddenly stopped working. I unplugged and let it sit for a while thinking a capacitor or something had to discharge, but that did not work. I even tried the battery pull solutions I found in the support section. Nothing.
I am just venting because I have to wait until their tech support opens in the next few days to get anything done (I assume they are not open Dec. 26.), but if there is something silly that I am overlooking, please let me know.

I looked the power supply (the brick unit) on their parts page. It gets a low rating. Someone mentioned in a review that his broke after use...Maybe I should buy something else.

Are you saying that when the AC adapter is not connected to the PC and you plug the AC adapter into the wall socket, it no longer lights up? This is after you reseated it into the brick? If yes, send me a Private Message (click my username, click Send Message) with the following data so I can look into this -

Reason: Faulty power AC adapter and/or cord

Yeah. I know. What makes it WORSE is I got the computer at the start of December but refused to open it because I wanted the joy of opening it on Christmas morning. I even took off Monday so I could play all day Christmas and into that Monday.
Ugh.

You can still play with it...just not power it on, but what does that really do any way? Close your eyes really tight and imagine how nice that Alienware laptop is...how fast it is...how cool the lights are on it... How nice the graphics are. Now open your eyes and enjoy your broken Christmas present.
Thank you, Dell! Best Christmas ever!!!

I am embarrassed because I took pictures of it and sent it to my friends.

My apologies for the issue in the first place. It looks like they already setup a dispatch to send you a replacement A/C Adapter and power cord.

Yup. Got up early so I could be first in line with tech support.
