Problem Upgrading X51 GPU with MSI R9 270X

Hi,

A little while ago I posted here about upgrading my X51 with the R9 270X GPU (http://en.community.dell.com/owners-club/alienware/f/3746/t/19590077.aspx). I bought the 330 Watt power supply from Dell and the R9 270X from Amazon. Dell support  verified that the two were compatible in the above link. I followed Dell's instructions for removing the included GPU. When I tried to put in the R9 270X, however, I was horrified to see it won't fit.

Here are some images:

This is driving my crazy - how do I get the R9 270X in there? It's supposed to be supported. Please help me out.

Hi bookerdewitt77,

The largest dimensions supported in the X51 R2 are 9,5" length, 4.376" height. The dimensions for this video card according to Amazon are:

Product Dimensions: 10.2 x 5.1 x 1.5 inches

I'm sorry for the confusion, but unfortunately this video card won't fit in the desktop. You can contact Amazon to return this video card and order a different one, or contact Dell Spare Parts to order the OEM version. (9T9G3 = AMD Radeon R9 270X, RD14D-E1-30, 2GB, DVI-I/DVI-D/DP/HDMI)

Note: I've corrected my previous posts in the original thread.
