Questions on switchable graphics for M17xR4
Hi everyone. I have some questions that I can't find answers for. They are:
1) Why can't I adjust the brightness of my laptop when the nvidia video card is selected? (Through right-clicking the power button in task bar I'm talking about)
2) When I go to play a game, do I automatically have to manually switch the graphics or will the games choose the video card?
If someone can just give me some background, I'd appreciate it. My screen is very dim now with the nvidia card selected and I don't know why.

Hi Morty007, about the brightness of the screen, it might be a problem with video card driver, which you can reinstall following this article. However it might be that you need to change the settings for the Power Management. Check this link with the steps on how to do it. Now, about your question regarding the video card the computer will use to game, you can add the games to the video card’s control panel for them to automatically run on high performance; otherwise the computer will decide when to run with the integrated GPU and when to do it with the discrete(high performance) one. Check this link with more information on how to set it up.
