R3 and 700 series card
Hello all,
I just bought a GTX770 and was wondering if anyone has encountered problems installing into an R3. I have a 875W PSU and a I7-2600 w/ 16gb of 1600 RAM and a GTX580. If there is going to be a problem, I won't even open the box and send it back. Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I don't see why it wouldn't work, it will not perform as well as it would with the new processors but it should work just fine.

Thank you for the response. The card will be here Monday and I will post againto let others know how it goes. Also i did see an article regarding 2.0 vs 3.0 with the corrresponding procressors. There appears to be only a small drop (less than 5%) in most games run.

Ok, so the card went in no problems and works great. I got the 770 with new ACX cooler and noticed my case temps went up. The card runs a bit warm, around 75-80c when under load during BF3 on Ultra. In hind sight, problably should have got the blower fan so the air would go out the back. Other than that card works great and again computer started and played with no problems. Just FYI my BIOS is A05
