RAM upgrade issue in new Alienware 15, 4 beeps no boot.
So I just purchased a new alienware 15 and I already had good compatible ram for an upgrade, according to dell recommended ram, for this computer. It also worked in my previous alienware 14. I took out the stock ram (2x4GB @1600mhz) and put in Corsair vengeance (2x8GB @ 1866mhz) and the current bios is not recognizing them. A04 is the most current bios. Any chance Alienware will be releasing a bios upgrade to accept ram like this. the Alienware 14 ran them flawlessly. Model number on the ram upgrade is CMSX16GX3M2A1866C10
thanks for any help.

Your new RAM sticks run at a higher voltage than the laptop takes. The laptop uses DDR3 1.35v or DDR3L RAM.

Since they are third party there is no way to assure you that they will work or that a BIOS update will fix the problem.
If you want reference of third party hardware that might work you ask in notebook review or in Alienware Arena.
